Every Wild Spirit has a beginning.

Sometimes it’s crossing a finish line. Sometimes it’s climbing a mountain. And sometimes it’s something much quieter—a decision to stop putting yourself last and start choosing yourself again.

For Nickie, that decision became her spark.

At 54, Nickie is building a business she loves, raising a family and embracing a chapter of life that many women find both exciting and challenging. Married with two daughters and a much-loved dog, she has spent years supporting others through her work in the holistic industry before taking the leap into running her own soul-led holistic business.

Like so many women, life had become about everyone else.

Family, work and responsibilities naturally came first, while her own wellbeing quietly slipped further down the list.

As she entered perimenopause, Nickie made a conscious decision that this time would be different.

Rather than waiting for her health to become a problem, she wanted to invest in herself before she needed to.

Joining a gym wasn’t something that came naturally. Walking through the doors for the first time felt intimidating and outside of her comfort zone, but she soon realised that movement wasn’t about looking a certain way or competing with anyone else.

It was about looking after the only body she’d ever have.

Today, exercise has become part of her routine because of how it makes her feel. It’s about supporting her heart health, protecting her mental wellbeing and giving herself the time and space she deserves.

That’s exactly why Nickie represents Ignite – The Spark.

Ignite isn’t about being the fittest woman in the room.

It isn’t about lifting the heaviest weights or running the fastest times.

It’s about that first decision.

The moment you choose yourself.

The first walk.

The first class.

The first gym session.

The first time you realise you’re worth investing in.

When asked what advice she’d give another woman thinking about taking that first step, her answer couldn’t have been simpler.

“You don’t have to be fit to start… you just have to start.”
